Econobuilt specialises in providing management expertise at all levels of the design and construction process, including:
Value engineering – Our approach to the design phase is one of the key differences we have identified between ourselves and our competitors. Talk to us about the way we combine the design flair of our external architects with the fiscal and practical expertise of our in-house designers, quantity surveyors and construction professionals to maximise your available budget and deliver a quality project for less.
Project and construction management – the PCG method – We utilise the Project Control Group meeting format. This means that key members of the client and construction teams, together with key consultants/sub contractors meet regularly to an agreed schedule. At these meetings we will review actions required by all parties in order to meet agreed project deliverables. Formal progress reports are prepared and submitted to the client team at the scheduled PCG meetings or other frequencies as agreed.
Single Line of Accountability - Because we are the sole contracting party for your total project, we are responsible for all aspects of the project delivery. This means that you are not having to deal with a number of different companies each with differing priorities. We streamline all aspects of the project delivery to ensure unnecessary costs and delays are eliminated. This way of contracting your project also reduces risk, as there is no possibility of contractors sidestepping responsibility where contracts overlap.
Health and safety management – Econobuilt has a key focus on creating safe work environments for all employees, subcontractors and visitors to the workplace. We are proactive in promoting systems and initiatives that work to maintain a safe workplace, both for those on the work site itself and, importantly, for those in the surrounding environment.
Our comprehensive Health and Safety Manual incorporates workable and proven methods to systematically identify and manage hazards. We carry out both internal audits and utilise an independent safety consultant to review our practices and procedures and implement changes to ensure we constantly improve our safety systems.
We undertake extensive safety inductions for all staff and subcontractors on site. We put significant emphasis on ensuring employees and subcontractors accept their responsibility in promoting a safe workplace and undertake regular toolbox meetings to review and reinforce our safety principles. We have strong established relationships with subcontractors and give preferential treatment to those with a common safety ethic.
Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) - Our team has a good working knowledge of environmentally sustainable design options and construction methodologies. Our approach to ESD is always specific to each client and their project, after reviewing their sustainability ideals and considering the client's economic return parameters. While we have gained considerable experience in ESD ourselves, we also utilise the services of a specialist ESD consultancy, as appropriate.
Econobuilt's environmental construction objective is to improve the built environment and minimise any negative effects on the natural surroundings. We strive to implement cleaner and more sustainable construction methods, such as recycling during demolition works, minimising waste during construction and reducing transportation and materials handling.
